Buick automakers are putting in plenty of work to increase their SUV offerings. Recently, the automaker announced a new Buick Encore model known as the 2020 Buick Encore GX.
The 2020 Buick Encore GX is meant to fit in between the current 2019 Buick Encore and the 2019 Buick Envision. So, what does this bigger Buick SUV bring to the table? The automaker has yet to unveil much information, but there’s some we know currently. For starters, it offers about five more cubic feet of cargo space than the standard Buick Encore. As for power, because it’s larger, we expect it to get a bigger engine than the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque found in the current Buick Encore.
The automaker has stated that the new model will come with a host of standard driver safety aids including autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. Both a rearview camera and surround-view are also expected to be available.
From a photo of the interior, it looks like the Buick Encore GX features a pleasant two-toned aesthetic, infotainment screen, and possibly a heads-up display. What the HUD will display is as of yet unconfirmed, but it definitely adds an elegant touch to the vehicle.
